For me, chess is more than a game.
It is also a creative space where I can bring together colours, materials and my own ideas.
That freedom inspired Iceberg, a collection that expands the Chess by Jass range with chess sets inspired by the beauty of ice.
Depth That Draws You In
The defining feature of the Iceberg collection is an irregular, ice-like texture captured in epoxy resin. The transparency of the material reveals its details and creates a sense of depth. As you view the board from different angles, reflections shift and different elements come into focus.
The result is a chessboard with something to discover, even when no game is in progress.
Inspired by Ice
The name Iceberg evokes ice, but its colours are not limited to cool shades. Soft tones emphasise the transparency of the resin, while richer colours give the set a bolder character. Each combination creates a different mood, showing how a single idea can take on many forms.
This collection is another step in my exploration of epoxy resin. Alongside colour, it gives greater prominence to texture and the way it interacts with light.
Each Piece Made by Hand
I make every Iceberg chess set by hand. Individual boards naturally vary in their textures, colour placement and subtle transitions. These differences give each one its own character.
I want each set to bring joy both during a game and whenever it catches your eye. Whether placed on a living room table, in a study or in another favourite spot, it keeps chess close at hand while becoming part of your interior.
